The MIRA RIVER COTTAGES and RIVERBANK
RESTAURANT are easily accessible to travelers. We are located in the heart
of Cape Breton on the world famous MIRA RIVER just a short step from
MARION BRIDGE on the East Side of the river. Our vacation paradise has
been welcoming guests to this scenic area since our inception with
leisurely accommodations and fantastic cuisine. Your Cape Breton vacation
begins on the MIRA with Cape Breton hospitality with a European flair,
fine cuisine, and nature's ambudance. Experience the uniqueness that is
the MIRA RIVER COTTAGES and RIVERBANK RESTAURANT. |
| Our cottages and restaurant are a mere
15-km. Or 10 minute leisurely drive to Sydney and the boutiques,
restaurants and Casino. While visiting experience Loiusbourg, Cossitt
House, UCCB or the village of Baddeck on the Bras d'Or Lakes that was
first settled by United Empire Loyalists and home of the famous inventor,
Alexander Graham Bell and his family. Here you can sail, tour the
boutiques, search out fine restaurants for brunch, and revel in the
history of the area. |

Situated on The Mira River, we are able
to present a varied and fun filled vacation for the family and naturalists
in the family with our family of hiking trails, canoes, boat tours,
fishing and basking. From Port Hastings and the entrance to Cape Breton
Island, we are 110 km or 1:45 hour relaxing drive along route 19 and The
Ceilidh Trail and connecting with The Cabot Trail at Margaree Forks or by
taking the Trans Canada to Sydney. Your arrival is always welcomed with a
hearty handshake and friendly smiles at our cottages. |
| You may enter the island by air at
Sydney Airport that has car rental and limousine service for your
convenience. We will also avail ourselves to pick up our guests and return
them to the airport if you wish. Air Canada and its affiliate Air Nova
provides daily flights from New York, Boston, Toronto, Montreal and St.
John's, Nfld. with worldwide connections, and scheduled connections within
Atlantic Canada. Also, there is also ferry service from Port-aux-Basques,
Newfoundland to North Sydney, a mere 30 minute or 25-km drive from the
MIRA RIVER COTTAGES. |
